Our band program here at St. John's is a pull-out program mainly during the school day for students in grades 4-8. Students in fourth grade and any student who is a new member of the band program is placed in Beginning Band. Students in grades 5-8 with at least one year of playing experience are members of our Concert Band.

All band members receive one small group lesson and one large group rehearsal during the week. Beginning Band meets for rehearsal Wednesdays from 8:30-9:00, Concert Band (Students in grades 5-8) meets before school Monday mornings from 8:20-9:00, and Wind Symphony (Students in grades 5-8 by audition) meets Thursday mornings from 8:20-9:00.

Students also have the option of joining Jazz Band, which meets Tuesday mornings from 8:20-9:00. Students must have at least one year of playing experience and all players (except piano, guitar, and bass) must be members of the St. John's Concert Band to participate. Auditions for this ensemble may be needed if interest exceeds need.

Students in Beginning Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band perform in the Christmas and Spring Band Concert. Students in Wind Symphony perform in the Christmas Band Concert, All-School Christmas Program, Spring Band Concert, and a mid-year concert in March.
